Representative Experience

Mr. Mear's practice focuses on litigation as well as insurance coverage matters. He has significant experience in professional negligence, wrongful death, construction defect, commercial torts, product liability, premises liability, insurance bad faith, punitive damages and other general litigation matters. He recently first-chaired a premises liability jury trial and obtained a unanimous defense verdict.  He has also second-chaired a jury trial, which culminated in a defense verdict.  He has argued several motions in court and successfully first-chaired four bench trials. He has significant experience in taking and defending depositions and experience in witness preparation. Mr. Mear recently obtained summary judgment in defense of an on-line auction company in a multi-million dollar lawsuit and in defense of a barricade company in a wrongful death suit.  He has also obtained a favorable ruling on a brief he submitted before the Arizona Court of Appeals in defense of a police shooting wrongful death matter. Mr. Mear is also committed to pro bono work.
