Demetra Makris is an attorney with the firm’s employment and litigation practice group. Demetra enjoys working on investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, threats or identity theft, I-9 and E-Verify audits, DOL and wage and hour audits, defending companies in EEOC and ACRD charges and in employment litigation, handling commercial litigation matters, and assisting companies with corporate transactions.
Ms. Makris obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2017. In law school, Ms. Makris was a member of the Student Bar Association, Law Women’s Association, and a note and comment editor for the Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law, where she was published. She was also an active member in her school’s Child and Family Law Clinic and Veterans Advocacy Law Clinic.
Ms. Makris received a B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, and a B.A. in Global Studies, magna cum laude, from Arizona State University and it Barrett Honors College. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Makris served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Michael J. Brown, Jennifer B. Campbell, and James B. Morse Jr. of the Arizona Court of Appeals.
