Biography

Ms. Kent is a nurse attorney with over 30 years of complex trial and litigation experience. She founded and operated the Kent Law Group for 21 years before joining the Cavanagh team. Ms. Kent graduated from ASU with both her nursing and law degree. She worked as a registered nurse in high-risk areas of neonatal ICU and emergency medicine. She flew with AirEvac as a flight nurse. Ms. Kent was a charter member ECMO technician. Ms. Kent started her nursing profession as a candy striper under the guidance of her mother, a strong nurse leader who taught Ms. Kent the healing power of compassion. She worked her way up in healthcare as an aide, an LPN, and finally an RN. Ms. Kent maintains her licensure in nursing and often volunteers in health care including working in a recent vaccination clinic during COVID.

In 1992, Ms. Kent graduated from Arizona State University College of Law in the upper twenty-five percent of her class. Since that time Ms. Kent has practiced entirely in the areas of medical malpractice, health care law, and complex commercial litigation. She has substantial success in the courtroom in Arizona and Nevada having successfully tried a over 30 complex high exposure cases. For Ms. Kent, the greatest thing about practicing law is being able to counsel people in time of need. Her joy and passion are working with health care providers of all specialties. A substantial part of her current practice is the defense of complex commercial tort litigation including product liability.

Ms. Kent has lived in Arizona all her life. Her family settled in this state in the 1800s. Ms. Kent is married for over 34 years and she and her husband have two grown children. She is a certified yoga instructor and a five-time marathon runner. Ms. Kent and her husband love the outdoors and are often seen in the neighborhood walking their two dogs Millie and Moses. She looks ahead to working on health care policy and continuing to shape the delivery of the health care system through the practice of law.
