Hoyt S. Hoyt is a proud member of the Cavanagh Law Firm. His practice focuses on civil litigation, primarily in the areas of insurance defense and products liability. He is a driven litigator centering his efforts on client-driven results. Prior to joining Cavanagh, Mr. Hoyt spent more than a decade litigating for the federal government where he managed cases through all stages of litigation, including appellate work and pre-litigation strategy. Mr. Hoyt’s work has garnered recognition at the local and national level, and he has assisted with litigation that resulted in client-favorable published decisions before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Arizona Supreme Court. He has helped secure favorable outcomes for clients in over one thousand cases and brings that litigation experience to bear for his current clients.

Mr. Hoyt also has extensive experience in navigating administrative law and regulatory frameworks, particularly the interplay between state and federal rules and regulations. He has presented on issues surrounding Chevron deference prior to the Supreme Court’s issuance of Loper Bright Enterprises and has a keen understanding of how agency action is structured within the federal government. Mr. Hoyt brings a unique perspective to clients seeking to plot a course through complex bureaucracy.

Mr. Hoyt is an Arizona native and grew up in Tucson. He earned undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Arizona. He is fluent in Spanish and prior to attending law school worked as a certified interpreter. In his spare time, Mr. Hoyt enjoys being with his family in the outdoors, participating in off-road motorsports, and restoring and repairing cars and trucks.
