Representative Experience

Ms. Barnes' practice focuses on creditors’ rights in bankruptcy. Her experience includes advocacy in bankruptcy court proceedings in numerous jurisdictions, including cash collateral and stay relief proceedings, prosecution and defense of various adversary proceedings and contested matters, such as fraudulent transfer and preference avoidance, exemption and claims objections, non-discharge litigation, and contested confirmations. Ms. Barnes also represents creditors in enforcement and collections proceedings in Arizona, assisting them to protect and take control of their collateral and to collect the amounts that are due and owing to them.
  • Ms. Barnes represents mainly secured and unsecured creditors, and she also represents debtors, trustees and receivers.
  • She has successfully briefed and argued appeals before the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
